Nothing is cozier than enjoying a cup of tea on a dreary winter afternoon. However, if you’re in Britain and want to splash out, make sure to stop at one of these fine establishments and be treated like royalty.

Cliveden House in Berkshire. Stop by to luxuriate in their “Platinum” Afternoon Tea. Often cited as the most expensive tea in the United Kingdom, the menu includes Beluga caviar, white truffles, Da Hong Pao tea (from very old plants), and even a chocolate cake with gold leaf. Tea also comes with a glass of Dom Pérignon Rosé.

The Milestone Hotel in Kensington. The Champagne Afternoon Tea is s premium Champagne‑infused tea experience. It’s not just the food, but the sophistication, the bubbles, and the setting (overlooking Kensington Palace) that make it high-end.

Rubens at the Palace in London. The Golden Tips Tea Experience doesn’t disappoint. It features a pot of an extremely rare, high-grade Sri Lanka tea (PMD’s “Ceylon’s Golden Tips”). For tea connoisseurs, paying for the teapot (rather than just the food) is what drives up the cost.

The Ritz London in London. While their “traditional” afternoon tea starts lower, the Ritz is well-known for very high-end “Tea + Champagne” or vintage / limited-edition tea menus. According to some sources, the base tea can go up (especially for curated, rare teas) in price.

The Dorchester in London. The Dorchester is very high-end, and their tea is served in a truly elegant, grand space. While this is more “luxury hi‑tea” rather than a rarity-tea blowout, the opulence of the venue and quality of food make it one of the more expensive “everyday” luxury teas in London.
