March 17 – July 19
Musée d’Orsay (Paris)
This exhibition explores the central role of love in Pierre‑Auguste Renoir’s work during a key period (mid‑1860s to 1880s). Rather than dramatizing romance, Renoir presents love in a joyful, tender, and modest way — scenes of flirtation, friendship, family, and everyday sociability dominate. The show also emphasizes the social networks in Renoir’s paintings: couples are not isolated but part of broader relationships (friends, children, families), emphasizing love as a connective, binding force. Some of his iconic works are featured: Dance at the Moulin de la Galette, Luncheon of the Boating Party, and others.
