Pumpkin Out in these restaurants.

October 1, 2022

Pumpkin. It’s not just about PSL’s (pumpkin spice lattes, for non-Starbucks readers). And during this season, this gourd becomes the star of many get-together shows. Soups are guzzled and gobbled at epic proportions. Scones are accented with its flavor. Pumpkin breads are found everywhere. But pumpkin stretches far beyond these staples. If you are traveling to any of these great American cities – make sure not to miss one of these amazing pumpkin treats.

BOTTEGA NAPA VALLEY —YOUNTVILLE, CALIF.

Chef Michael Chiarello spends his days off set at the Food Network at his restaurant Bottega Napa Valley whipping up an incredible Pumpkin and Fontina Risotto. The nutty flavors of this fresh take on an Italian dish are only accentuated by the warm ambiance of Bottega, perfect for an autumn meal.

DOR-STOP RESTAURANT — PITTSBURGH

This family operation is known for being such a cozy neighborhood favorite that Guy Fieri brought his parents here. Located on a corner, this popular local establishment often has lines out the door. Its Peanut Butter and Sweet Pumpkin Hotcakes are amazing.

GIACOMO’S RISTORANTE — BOSTON

At this tiny restaurant, the line goes down the block seven days a week, but don’t let that stop you from trying the Pumpkin Ravioli and the Pumpkin Tortellini.

CRANBERRY ISLAND KITCHEN — FREEPORT, MAINE

In Freeport, Maine, bakers Karen and Carol bested Bobby with their Pumpkin Whoopie Pies with Maple Cream Cheese. Besides their talents in the kitchen, Karen and Carol attribute their win to their dedication to using fresh, local Maine ingredients, including Maine maple sugar.
