Courchevel, France

December 29, 2025

Courchevel is where I go when I want skiing and sophistication to live in complete harmony. The sheer scale of Les Trois Vallées means I can chase fresh snow for hours, yet somehow the day always ends in a chalet or restaurant that is perfectly placed and beautifully curated. There is a certain ease here, a blend of Michelin-level dining, sweeping views and a cosmopolitan crowd that makes every moment feel elevated. I come for the mountains, but Courchevel always reminds me that winter can be as chic as it is exhilarating.

Ski Essentials

Best runs:

Combe de la Saulire for sweeping high altitude descents.

Crest Voland and the gentle tree-lined pistes above 1650.

The runs that connect into Méribel and Val Thorens for a full Trois Vallées exploration.

Best hotels:

Hotel Les Airelles

Cheval Blanc Courchevel

L’Apogée Courchevel

Season window:

Early December through late April, with peak conditions from mid-December through March.

Snow quality:

Beautifully maintained grooming, exceptional coverage, and abundant powder in the higher bowls.
