The Savonlinna Opera Festival will be held in the historic Olavinlinna Castle, a medieval fortress set on a lake in eastern Finland. The site is internationally renowned for staging major operatic works in a dramatic open-air courtyard, combining world-class acoustics with an atmospheric setting. Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, along with Verdi’s Nabucco and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, will bring to the stage vibrant performances. Silvia Paoli’s fresh new staging of Verdi’s La Traviata will be on display, and to crown the season, Bellini’s Norma, a bel canto masterpiece in concert form, will mark the anticipated debut of the soprano Lisette Oropesa in the title role. Luxury experiences include VIP seating boxes, private intermission receptions, backstage access, and curated cultural excursions around the Finnish lake district.
